Daniel Carpenter-Gold is a Staff Attorney with the Public Law Center, providing legal technical assistance on climate-justice issues to advocates, community groups, and local governments. His work focuses on equitable building decarbonization: policies and practices for reducing building emissions while maximizing co-benefits and minimizing harm for the people who live and use those buildings, especially low-income tenants and tenants of color. Previously, Daniel was a staff attorney at TakeRoot Justice in New York City, where he provided legal support to community-based organizations in the areas of land use, housing quality and equity, and economic development. Daniel is also a fellow at the UCLA School of Law’s Institute for Climate Change and the Environment.
